CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships provide funding to allow students to attend and participate in the Weaving Our Stories Conference. To be considered for these scholarships, you must complete the conference registration.
Blanding Student Participation Scholarship
Intended for students attending USU Blanding.
Scholarship Information:
- $150 stipend
- Must attend a minimum of 2 conference sessions
Statewide Travel & Lodging Scholarship
Intended for students traveling from other USU campuses or institutions outside the Blanding area.
Scholarship Information:
- Travel expenses (via USU group rental vans)
- Lodging during the conference
HERO TWINS SCHOLARSHIP
In honor of the Diné story of the Hero Twins, this scholarship is sponsored by the City of Blanding and is intended to support a transformative learning experience such as an internship, study abroad, or community project.

This award recognizes students who have confronted personal, academic, or systemic challenges and who demonstrate a deep commitment to strengthening their communities. It is both a recognition of past achievement and an investment in future transformation, leadership, and impact.
Scholarship Information:
- Two scholarships are available. One for a USU Blanding student and one for a student from another USU campus.
- $5,000 scholarship to support a high-impact experience that expands their perspective, strengthens their skills, and contributes to the well-being of others.
While grounded in Diné, the award is offered in a spirit of respect for all eight Tribal Nations in Utah and is open to all students—Native and non-Native alike. Students are invited to engage with these values with humility, respect, and a commitment to community.
