The Weaving Our Stories conference invites proposals from faculty, students, practitioners, and community members to explore how communities carry forward their histories while shaping the futures they seek to build together.
Proposals
We welcome sessions that foster meaningful dialogue, share knowledge across lived and learned experiences, and highlight practical approaches to strengthening communities.
We especially welcome proposals that engage trauma-aware and resilience-oriented approaches across all subthemes.
Subthemes
- Story, Memory, and Cultural Knowledge
Explores how histories, lived experiences, and cultural knowledge shape identity, understanding, and future possibilities. - Connection, Belonging, and Community Life
Focuses on building trust, strengthening relationships, and fostering inclusion across diverse communities. - Reframing Experience and Community Strength
Examines how individuals and communities interpret experiences, cultivate agency, and build on internal strengths. - Leadership, Accountability, and Community Change
Highlights efforts to translate insight into action through leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution, and community-driven solutions
Submission Guidance
- Proposals may include presentations, panels, workshops, or interactive sessions.
- Proposals should identify the subtheme they align with.
- Proposals should briefly describe the session format, intended audience, and key takeaways.
- Preference will be given to submissions that are collaborative, interactive, practice-oriented, and relevant to both academic and community audiences.
Presenter Conference Registration and Cost
Registration is free and required for all attendees.
Travel and Accommodations
The conference provides lodging support and food (during conference days) for selected presenters; additional travel or honoraria are not guaranteed. Rooms are reserved at special rates in local hotels. Please check conference lodging for the hotel options. Make your booking as soon as possible—space is limited.
