Utah State University has established a track in American Sign Language Interpreting (ASLI), which is an Associate-to-Bachelor's degree (BS) in the Communication Disorders and Deaf Education Department. All courses, including upper division courses, are offered completely online. Following completion of an Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Arts (AA) or an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in American Sign Language Interpreting, completion of bachelor’s degree requires approximately 40 credit hours. Students can enroll full-time or part-time.
Why Earn a Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor’s degree completion is a required component of taking the National Interpreting Certification (NIC) through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). This degree builds on student interpreting skills to prepare future professionals in the exciting field of ASLI.
